POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Marketing Manager represents the United Way brand and plays a highly visible role in the Brand & Marketing team by managing marketing communications and campaigns across a variety of online/offline channels in support of organizational goals and objectives. This includes designing, producing, and tracking highly engaging written and design assets for key audiences, providing fundraising support with ongoing execution of presentations, social media and blog support, website content (CMS) maintenance and text-to-give campaigns, advertising campaigns and other duties as assigned.

This individual is highly organized and has a creative vision for design, layout and formatting of materials, including copywriting, typographic, photographic, illustrative and graphic design elements. They will also lead recommendations for the development and improvement of internal and public-facing communications and materials on behalf of the Brand & Marketing team and in a cross-departmental support capacity.

  • Proficient in project management, monitoring and managing competing priorities in support of marketing project briefs and other creative projects
  • Embraces storytelling through design and manages the creation of collateral for organization, fundraising team, events campaigns, and other VSUW projects and initiatives
  • Collaborates with Brand & Marketing team members, and works cross-departmentally to manage creative vision, while supporting overall brand guidelines and design look/feel/tone
  • Works with internal stakeholders to obtain proper buy-in/approvals, as necessary, and within expected deadlines
  • Holds a leadership role in planning the content calendar, creative brainstorming sessions, editorial and design planning meetings
  • Manages external agencies and/or partners for advertising and website management, which may include planning, creating and executing branding ideas, project tracking, graphic design, collateral materials and digital, print, and/or broadcast campaigns
  • Conceptualizes and implements email marketing content and strategies including creating, distributing, and tracking communications and engagement initiatives
  • Actively monitors and updates the organization’s website content and improves search engine optimization (SEO) strategies, collaborating with internal and external website partners, when necessary
  • Utilizes assessment and reporting tools including, but not limited to, Google Analytics to analyze website performance, Exact Target/Constant Contact for email marketing, and Sprout Social (and direct platforms) for social media engagement analysis and efficacy
  • Performs other duties and supports other projects as assigned

  • At least two (2) years of experience in a related role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising or related disciplines.
  • Experience conceptualizing, planning, implementing and evaluating comprehensive campaigns and projects
  • Experience with marketing platforms and software, such as text campaigns, donation landing pages, web/content management systems, and industry-relevant design programs.

We’ve been telecommute-friendly for eligible roles since 2015 and most employees work in the office 1-3 days a week. Working in a hybrid environment hasn’t affected our collaboration, communication and relationship-based culture. To be successful at this, you’ll need to make sure you have high-speed internet access and a quiet, noise-free home office space that is free from distractions.

Salary: $50,000-$54,000 annually
